In particular, the design department, after the update implemented ten years ago under the direction of Frédéric Chambre, auctioneer and general director of the firm, has taken on a key role in the market, constantly continuing its growth. With over 20 auctions each year, covering the history of design from the 1940s to the present, the department has always stood out for its proposals from all over the world, including the sale of famous and thematic collections.

An exclusive contemporary design auction will be held in the headquarters at 118 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, the firm’s location since 2014, on 7 February at 17.30. The lots up for grabs include: the Sculpt Cupboard of 2007 (lot 123, estimated from 20,000 to 30,000 €), and the chair from the Clay Collection of 2006 (lot 125, 4000-6000 €) by Maarten Baas; the Cartier dining table with mirror base in a limited edition from 1994 (lot 126, 25,000-35,000 €), and the Looploom chaise longue of 1992 (lot 128, 35,000-45,000 €), both by Ron Arad; the Assemblage #4 by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec (lot 133, 30,000-40,000 €); and the Alta lounge chair with footrest of 1970 by Oscar Niemeyer (lot 156, 8000-12,000 €).
