The outdoor collection of Baxter – for which the ‘first act’ was presented at the latest Salone del Mobile, with design by Roberto Lazzeroni, Studiopepe and Antonino Sciortino – now expands with projects by Paola Navone, the ‘second act’ premiered in Paris at the Silvera Saint-Germain showroom during the days of Maison&Objet, like a manifesto of renewal based on the same values.

Based on the need to also furnishing outdoor spaces, and to approach the ‘outside’ as a whole, this collection is the result of years of research. The careful study of forms and materials conveys the desire to bring consistency, not only in creative terms but also in structural, tangible solutions, bringing space and imagination together.

Designed in-house and together with some of the familiar signatures of Baxter and its codes, the pieces have been conceived to trigger dialogue between each other and with the interior; they are versatile, suggesting an ideal bridge between present and future.

The colors of this ‘second act’ are derived from a sea that cannot by narrated in words. Immense, impetuous at times, or withdrawn, capable of uniting different lands. The blue of this sea stands out amidst the branches of an age-old olive tree, a welcoming presence like the cradle of faraway civilizations. Inside this imaginary, an ideal space is formed for the clean, slender lines of the Arizona beach lounges, with a structure in 316 stainless steel in a verdigris finish, and coverings in outdoor leather or fabrics. These items are combined with the Manila family of seating, composed of a larger and smaller armchairs and a chair, again with a structure in verdegris-finish 316 stainless steel, featuring woven leather.

Also with an eye on minimalism and relaxation, Navone has created the Rimini line of cots, chaises longues and chairs with a structure in acid-etched copper and outdoor leather, and a table with top in Palladiana Black and structure in etched copper. The collection also includes the Matera large and small tables in Palladiana Green, while the Brasilia side tables in brushed concrete, and the Phoenix table in gray terracotta, add a touch of natural materiality to the setting.

Of course there is also a sofa: Elephant has a structure in acid-etched copper, covered in outdoor fabric, perfect for use with the armchair of the same collection and the Rimini chaise longue. Finally, the lavish, enveloping Montreal armchair, in outdoor fabric, becomes a case apart, a true visual ode to the desire to live on a human scale.

The colors inspired by the hues of the sea are utilized in outdoor materials of the highest quality: Lido Minorca, Lido Positano and Aku Lignum leather; Crochet Sucre, Camo Vert, Carré Sucre, Camouflage Gris, Bouclé Myrtille, Carré Ivoire, Mélange Ivoire fabrics.
