The vision of design as a tool of analysis and critique of society is a phenomenon that in the wake of the reflections of the great designers of the 1900s, especially Bruno Munari and Enzo Mari, continues to interest and fascinate many contemporary talents.
Questioning the role of design inside society and everyday life, the exhibition In Search of Lost Time is on view until April 2023, curated by Movimento – the nomadic-digital collective and gallery of emerging designers – in collaboration with the communication agency Domingo Communication, which has made four floors of its Milan headquarters available for the initiative (Via Sirtori 6).
Inside a modular and sustainable installation, the works of 27 contemporary designers from around the world are on display, together with the products of 55 Italian brands: objects and furnishings of timeless charm – where time is a fil rouge inspired by the title of a masterpiece by Marcel Proust – created to transcend the present day and to be personalized, characteristics that reflect the experimental and cosmopolitan approach of the designers, open to dialogue with clients and to contaminations between design and other forms of expression like fashion, photography, illustration, graphics and contemporary art.
Based on research and the representation of emerging brands and independent designers, Movimento is a project of Artefatto Design Studio – an interdisciplinary firm with offices in Milan and London – conceived as both a physical gallery and an online platform, where design enthusiasts and professionals can discover and purchase products from all over the world.
