The fourth iteration of the festival curated since 2019 by the non-profit cultural association for the production and promotion of the languages of contemporary art in Maremma presents a double project in dialogue with the landscape. The sculptural work I giocolieri dell’armonia by Giuseppe Gallo, on the coastal dunes of the Tagliata of Ansedonia, and Ships that pass in the night, a site-specific installation by Maurizio Nannucci for the facade of the Rocca Aldobrandesca of Talamone.

The 12 figures of I giocolieri dell’armoniafollow one another in an evocative procession, seeming to dance in the absence of gravity. Their silhouettes extend from the ground to the sky like shadows reflected in a mirror. Each profile has different characteristics and identities, narrating life not only in the space but also in time, a path that connects the various moments of the ages of man in a single dance. The composition is formed by 12 silhouettes, relying on the numerical language favored by the artist: the number 12, in fact, indicates the completion of a cycle, a perfect totality.” Massimo Mininni

Ships that pass in the night is a neon inscription in blue light and glass, activating “an intense dialogue with the history of the place. The old medieval fortress perched on the Maremma coast since the 12th century hosts a work conceived as a point of contact between antithetical pairs: reality and vision, time and space, water and earth. These are the same dichotomies on which the activity of nature and man has been based for centuries in the area set apart by the bay of Talamone, in a portion of territory halfway between sea and sky, coast and hills. At night, in the darkness, the light appears as a true vision in the immobility of the Maremma landscape.” Lorenzo Bruni
