The formal dynamism of the Cove kitchen, signed by Zaha Hadid Design and Boffi

The manual skill of the artisans who assemble the elements into fluid forms; the care and precision of the details; and the excitement of the curved line that draws the profile of a unique design object. This is how the Cove Kitchen island by Zaha Hadid Design and manufactured by Boffi is presented in a video, specifically, by the company’s bespoke division, able to simultaneously combine artisan, industrial and creative know-how.

A single block with a sinuous and simple stylistic outline, Cove came from an idea by Zaha Hadid, the famous starchitect who died last year and is considered one of the most influential personalities of the Planet, the only woman in history to have received the Pritzker prize for architecture, both in the sphere of architecture and that of design. Zaha Hadid designed this kitchen island for Boffi as part of the supply of kitchen furniture – and bathrooms – provided by Boffi for the apartments of the residential building designed by her at 520 West 28th St., New York.
Starting with this building with its organic shapes, Zaha Hadid’s island belongs to the Code kitchen furniture range, custom made by Boffi. It is an extraordinary article of furniture with an artistic spirit and also one of the most modern icons able to fully exploit the properties of Corian® solid surface, as resistant as stone but, at the same time, as easy to work as wood.  The island is clad in white and black DuPont™ Corian®, shaped in accordance with the dynamic lines that characterise the facades of the New York building.
