The buzz created around Cologne by imm and Passagen represents the perfect backdrop to unveil the latest trends in the kitchen sector. Just ask Boffi, who decided to merge business and pleasure in its exclusive city-centre showroom to launch its new products for 2017.
Among the stand-out pieces unveiled by the De Padova brand is LL04, an elegant chaise longue by Maarten Van Severen with a stunning hand-stitched natural leather covering. Mogura – which means “mole” in Japanese – is a lamp available in hanging and floor versions. Designed by Nendo, it features a diagonal lightbulb holder which takes its inspiration from the tunnels made when moles burrow into the ground. Last but not least, the Sen side table by Kensaku Oshiro is a triumph of versatility, not least because of the variety of finishes available for the table top: marble, oak or a soft-touch effect created using nanotechnology treatment, which makes for an exclusive, modern appearance.
2017 will also see the Boffi_Code initiative launched in Germany for the first time. This is no new kitchen, bathroom or closet, but a personalisation scheme which means Boffi systems can be made to measure for more exacting clients. Boffi_Code features new materials, finishes and compartment types, with the aim of creating a finished product which embodies the very best in industrial craftsmanship.
