Mipim Cannes: new edition in September

A gathering for the world of real estate, arriving in Cannes for a physical event that puts the spotlight on major international investments and players

Mipim September Edition is the name of the upcoming iteration of Mipim Cannes, reflecting the shift in timing to autumn as opposed to the traditional program in March. After the obligatory break last year, the real estate event par excellence is back, face-to-face, for the two days of 7 and 8 September.
New dates, but at the same location: the Palais des Festivals becomes the stage for exhibitions, conferences and networking opportunities.

Together with the previews of major international projects on a wide scale, capable of creating opportunities and attracting worldwide stakeholders, MIPIM stands out for the presence of investors and representatives of the most important financial institutions (Qatar Investment Authority, Axa REIM, Redevco, Ivanhoé Cambridge, Union Investment, Crédit Suisse, among many others). At the same time, it hosts the event REinvest Reunion (on Tuesday 7 September), which brings together leading international institutional investors (sovereign wealth funds, pension and insurance funds) on the theme of ESG risk.

Not only financial institutions will be on hand: many private players also take part (in the world of hospitality, there are outstanding names like Accor, Intercontinental Hotels Group, TUI Hotels & Resorts, Prizma, Aranil and Covivio Hotels), as well as public entities like the cities of Paris, Berlin, Hamburg, Stockholm, Helsinki, Riga, Poznań, Lyon, Aix-Marseille, Dijon, Nice, Grenoble, as well as Barcelona, Malaga, Murcia and Rome, promoting their own urban projects.

Another gathering place for discussion of the hot themes of the real estate sector will be the cycle of conferences on the theme “New world, new era: time to reconnect”, and on the three essential components of sustainability: people, planet, performance (see here the program).

The question of innovation will also be addressed in all its complexity, examining the most interesting results, through the Propel by Mipim Startup Competition (the finalists will be announced on Tuesday the 7th, at 16.00).

Finally, in the same context, the annual Mipim Awards pay homage to the most fascinating and original projects around the world. After the 50 finalists were selected in mid-June, we can now discover the winners selected by a jury chaired by Méka Brunel (CEO of Gecina), during a ceremony on 8 September at the Auditorium Debussy of the Palais des Festivals.
