Poliform’s international vocation is now more evident than ever, as demonstrated by the company’s participation in the industry’s most important events across the world’s design capitals. First came Milan Design Week, during which Poliform inaugurated its new monobrand showroom in Milan, located inside a historic building in Piazza della Scala and completely renovated in collaboration with architect Stefano Belingardi Clusoni: a space that further strengthens the brand’s connection with the city and its design culture.

Now it is the turn of NYCxDESIGN, a festival in which the company has participated for more than a decade, reflecting its well-established presence in the American market thanks to its New York flagship store and Poliform US branch. The Madison Avenue flagship store – an authentic extension of the brand’s philosophy and vision –  is currently undergoing a major renovation that will double its exhibition space and, with it, its stylistic narrative. The space will thus be dedicated to showcasing Poliform’s vision of the complete home through its iconic pieces  and the latest collections for a total-look living concept are displayed: from living and sleeping areas to outdoor furnishings, wardrobe systems and architectural solutions.

Among the new launches, the Owen upholstered collection stands out. Designed by Jean-Marie Massaud, Owen draws inspiration from Mid-Century aesthetics: curved forms and structured profiles, generous volumes and a strong architectural framework. The collection, which includes a sofa and armchair, is distinguished by its striking wooden base supporting the upholstered elements. The solid wood is intentionally left exposed, with its prominent L-shaped profile creating a dynamic interplay of geometries and interlocking forms. In the sofa, the horizontal section supporting the seat and backrest intersects with the vertical element supporting the armrest without ever fully joining it, creating a surprisingly airy effect. In the armchair, meanwhile, the front structure supporting the base and armrests dialogues with the rear element, culminating in a graphic feature that supports the backrest while preserving the sense of lightness that defines the collection.

Another distinctive feature of Owen is the design of the backrest, which appears to wrap around itself like a Möbius strip, transforming into the armrest. Conceived in this way, the armrest becomes both a functional element – offering soft, comfortable support and a practical resting surface – and an extremely sophisticated aesthetic detail. The collection therefore embodies that concept of refined elegance and authentic comfort that defines Poliform’s creations: pure forms, minimalist design and generous padding give life to systems conceived for relaxation and conviviality: welcoming, informal and timeless.
