For NYCxDesign, Molteni&C has chosen Manhattan to unveil Corsetto, the new armchair conceived by Cristián Mohaded. The project marks the beginning of the collaboration between the Argentine designer and the Italian brand, introducing a vision shaped by balance, materiality and comfort. Presented at the Madison Avenue showroom, the project forms part of the 2026 Collection, developed around an idea of softness, balance and quiet presence. Shapes unfold with fluid continuity and without tension, in a design language centred on harmony and proportion, where light becomes an integral part of the project, gliding across surfaces and revealing the richness of materials and textures.

Within this context, Corsetto stands out for its dialogue between structure and comfort. The armchair stems from a study of controlled sculptural tension, where leather and fabric are not simply upholstery materials but active elements shaping the design itself. The result is a seat that feels both enveloping and precise, defined by balanced proportions and a refined tactile sensibility. Mohaded’s approach introduces a fresh energy into the brand’s language: sculptural yet restrained, with a strong focus on materiality and its expressive potential, alongside a chromatic sensibility that conveys warmth and contemporary character.

The project fits within a broader vision in which elegance and restraint replace excess, creating a discreet sophistication that subtly recalls Art Deco influences, interpreted more as a sensibility than a stylistic reference. The New York debut of the Corsetto armchair is accompanied by a dedicated press preview with the designer at the Molteni&C flagship store, 160 Madison Avenue, New York.
