Milan Design Week 2026 unfolded as a reflection of a region redefining its place within the global design conversation. Across installations, exhibitions, and collectible pieces, designers from the Middle East and North Africa arrived in Milan not simply to showcase objects, but to present layered narratives shaped by material memory, craftsmanship, identity, and experimentation. From Beirut to Dubai, Riyadh to Doha, this year’s presentations moved between architecture, collectible design, and conceptual storytelling, revealing how contemporary regional design continued to evolve across borders and disciplines. Together, these projects transformed Milan into a meeting point where heritage, innovation, and cultural exchange existed in constant dialogue.
Vessels of the Intangible Reimagined Sensory Design
Where: 5VIE, Milan Design Week 2026
Vessels of the Intangible stood out at Milan Design Week 2026 as a conceptual exploration of perception through light. Positioned between art and design, the collection transformed the five senses into sculptural objects that evoked what could not be seen.
Each piece became a vessel for sensation, translating sight, sound, touch, scent, and taste into forms that held memory, desire, and anticipation. Light emerged from within, not as illumination but as presence. Crafted through materials such as glass, metal, leather, and wood, the works existed within a Neo Ritual Baroque language, dramatic, tactile, and emotionally charged. Rather than presenting objects, the collection created encounters, shifting design from function to feeling.

Arab Design Now Returned to Milan
Where: Corraini Mobile Bookshop, Milan Design Week 2026
At Milan Design Week 2026, Arab Design Now returned with the announcement of its second edition, reinforcing its role as one of the most comprehensive publications dedicated to contemporary design across the MENASA region. Presented at Corraini Mobile Bookshop, the project brought together a wide network of designers working across architecture, product design, and craft, offering a layered perspective on a rapidly evolving creative landscape. Curated by Noura Al Sayeh-Holtrop and supported by Design Doha, the publication expanded on its first volume by mapping over 70 designers across the Levant, Gulf, and North Africa. Rather than simply documenting practices, the book positioned design as a cultural force, shaped by exchange, identity, and knowledge transmission.
The Milan presentation included a talk with key figures behind the project, followed by a signing session, creating a direct moment of dialogue between designers and audiences.
As regional narratives continued to gain global visibility, Arab Design Now acted as both archive and platform, capturing a generation shaping design across borders while positioning the region within the wider international conversation.

ETEREO Unfolded a Citywide Design Journey
Where: 5VIE District (The Pool NYC), Nilufar Depot, Casa Conte (Via Monte Napoleone 18), Alimonti Milano (Corso Venezia 53)
At Milan Design Week 2026, ETEREO expanded beyond a single installation, presenting four distinct collections across the city in a curated, itinerant experience. The Dubai- and Milan-based collective transformed Milan into a living map of material exploration, where each location revealed a different chapter of its design language. The journey began in the 5VIE District at The Pool NYC with Mo.du.lo, a reinterpretation of 1970s Italian design through fused glass blocks, where light and geometry interacted to create dynamic spatial effects. At Nilufar Depot, the Imago collection merged art and function through sculptural seating defined by ceramic elements and material contrast.

At Casa Conte, Ophelia introduced a softer, organic narrative, with quartzite dining pieces shaped through floral-inspired forms that balanced structure and fluidity. The final chapter unfolded at Alimonti Milano, where Medusa explored the tension between stone and metal, transforming rigid materials into forms that suggested movement and drapery. Connecting all four locations, a partnership with Microlino introduced a mobile dimension to the experience, reinforcing ETEREO’s vision of design as both spatial and experiential.

MADAR by C’est ici Design x MIAMILANO
Where: Milan Design Week 2026
At Milan Design Week 2026, Dubai-based C’est ici Design collaborated with MIAMILANO Stones to present MADAR, a sculptural furniture collection that repositioned natural stone as the central narrative of design. Moving beyond surface application, the collection began with the material itself, allowing veining, texture, and tonal variation to dictate form, proportion, and rhythm. Composed of three key pieces, Alma, Vera, and Mara, MADAR unfolded as an architectural composition where each object existed independently yet remained in dialogue. The grounded stillness of Alma contrasted with the vertical movement of Mara, creating a quiet tension across the collection. Craftsmanship sat at the core. MIAMILANO’s technical precision met C’est ici Design’s restrained aesthetic, resulting in objects that felt both monumental and intimate. Presented during Milan Design Week, MADAR transformed stone into a living material language, where design was less imposed and more revealed.

Jusoor Design Collections Brought Saudi Voices to Milan
Where: Pinacoteca di Brera, Via Brera 28, Sala delle Adunanze
Jusoor Design Collections arrived at Milan Design Week 2026 as a platform connecting Saudi designers with global design studios. Hosted at the historic Pinacoteca di Brera, the exhibition positioned Saudi design within an international dialogue shaped by collaboration and exchange. Meaning “bridges” in Arabic, Jusoor reflected connections across cultures, disciplines, and generations. Designers worked across Riyadh, New Delhi, Kathmandu, and Barcelona, developing objects that merged identity with material experimentation. From sculptural lighting to textile-based seating, each piece reflected both individual authorship and collective process. The exhibition moved beyond objects, emphasizing how design was shaped through dialogue. At Milan Design Week, Jusoor signaled a new phase for Saudi design, confident, collaborative, and globally engaged.

Studio Manda’s Cactus Collection Arrived at Nilufar
Where: Nilufar Gallery, NILUFAR GRAND HOTEL
Beirut-based Studio Manda presented its Cactus Collection at Nilufar’s Grand Hotel, bringing a sculptural exploration of resilience to Milan Design Week 2026. Inspired by the adaptability of cacti, the collection translated survival and transformation into furniture.
Comprising coffee tables, nightstands, and center pieces, the works balanced function and form, with organic textures and layered surfaces that evoked growth and endurance.
Material experimentation defined the collection. Marble and limestone particles were combined with resin and cast through 3D-printed molds, pushing traditional craftsmanship into new territory. Presented within Nilufar’s curated context, the collection sat between collectible design and conceptual narrative, reinforcing Studio Manda’s ongoing exploration of material as storytelling.
