ORGATEC has presented its return to Cologne with an edition designed to redefine the boundaries of the fair itself. More than a trade event that has centred solely on office environments, the 2026 edition has revealed a broader ambition: to reflect the changing ways contemporary spaces are conceived and experienced, opening the conversation to hybrid environments, hospitality and evolving workplace models. The international press conference has outlined a fair that, while maintaining strong ties to office design, has looked towards a wider network of industries and professional audiences.

The aim has been to position ORGATEC as a platform capable of interpreting the transformations currently reshaping the sector, where the boundaries between different design disciplines continue to blur. One of the key themes emerging from the presentation has been the growing international presence expected for the next edition. Alongside leading European brands, the fair has highlighted increasing participation from strategic global markets, reinforcing its intention to strengthen its international profile. This expansion extends beyond geography alone, encompassing a broader mix of product categories and design approaches.

The revised exhibition concept has moved in the same direction. ORGATEC has focused on a more dynamic structure conceived to encourage dialogue between products, technologies, materials and spatial solutions. Rather than rigid divisions, the fair has proposed a more fluid approach capable of connecting different sectors and design languages. Within this evolving landscape, the experiential dimension also has gained greater relevance. Contemporary workplaces are no longer viewed purely through a functional lens, but increasingly as environments where wellbeing, interaction, comfort and atmosphere play a central role – an approach that naturally brings workplace design closer to the language of hospitality and high-end residential interiors.

Alongside the exhibition offering, the event also has placed greater emphasis on talks, discussions and curated content exploring the future of design and work environments. The intention has been to turn the fair into a point of observation on the changes currently redefining the industry, from the evolution of professional spaces to sustainability, technology integration and new organisational models. More than simply pursuing growth in numbers, ORGATEC has demonstrated a desire to consolidate a broader cultural positioning. A shift that reflects the evolution of the contemporary workplace itself: less a specialised environment, and increasingly a flexible ecosystem shaped by connections, multiple functions and changing lifestyles.
