One might echo the famous expression by Ernesto Nathan Rogers, “From the spoon to the city,” to define Pininfarina’s creative approach. With its multidisciplinary expertise, the brand spans every scale across different sectors – from automotive to architecture, and product design. The common thread running through this multiverse is the pursuit of a core value: innovation expressed through a formal language of elegance and purity.

Recognized worldwide for its deep heritage rooted in the automotive world, Pininfarina has been a symbol of modernity and engineering for over 95 years. These principles are carried into every project, creating objects and spaces to be experienced, where beauty and performance, elegance and sportiness coexist. “The value of the brand lies in its ability to merge aesthetic excellence with technological innovation,” the company explains, “generating experiences that leave a lasting impact on how people live, move, and interact with the world around them.” These ideals are concretely expressed in the group’s latest creations across a wide range of applications – from indoor and outdoor furniture collections to ePaper poster frames, as well as exclusive urban architecture projects.

Architectures of well-being

The idea of purity, timeless elegance, and modernity that defines Pininfarina’s philosophy also directly inspires its Architecture division. Guided by these values, the brand creates living and urban spaces that embrace a new lifestyle – sustainable and design-driven. This vision also includes the recent project Palazzo Tissoli, Design by Pininfarina: a multifunctional urban development worth AED 1.2 billion, marking Pininfarina’s first architectural venture in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.

Located along the most sought-after stretch of Al Marjan Island, Palazzo Tissoli draws inspiration from its extraordinary surroundings: the natural landscape – sand dunes, mangrove wetlands, and panoramic sea views – shapes the architecture in a constant dialogue between design and nature. The project is expressed through soft lines and calming tones that foster well-being, while nature is brought indoors through generous shared green spaces, culminating in four elevated micro-gardens that punctuate each façade.

A defining feature of the 13-story building overlooking the coastline is precisely this extensive presence of greenery available to the community, integrated with the many amenities offered alongside the residences: a spa, a yoga studio, a children’s play area and swimming pools, as well as a café, meeting areas, and co-working spaces – all organized around a central courtyard rich with gardens.

Design synergies for indoor & outdoor living

Pininfarina continues its collaboration with Reflex, marked by a design language with a strong graphic and distinctive identity. At Milan Design Week, the two brands presented an expansion of the Orizzonte collection, which debuted last year with two indoor pieces: a sofa and a dining table. New additions include a bed and a sunbed, both echoing the collection’s defining feature: a horizontal line that runs through each piece, creating a sleek and minimalist aesthetic. The bed incorporates reclining backrests that can be adjusted simply by applying pressure with the hands, much like the wooden accessories that can be inserted into the horizontal slot that bisects the product.

In the sunbed, the horizontal wooden profile visually divides the volume into two sections, separating the reclining backrest from the base, which conceals a practical storage compartment. This compact and elegant expressiveness is paired with a sense of openness, freedom, and possibility that defines the collection – and inspires its name. Orizzonte thus interprets furniture as a dynamic ecosystem, connecting environments and people across domestic and lounge settings, offices, public spaces, and even yachts.

A harmony of design, art, and technology

In a single product, the many facets of Pininfarina come together. The brand has collaborated with InkPoster – an avant-garde company in Electronic Paper – to create InkPoster Duna, the largest full-color ePaper art poster ever produced in the world. This object, poised between art, decoration, design, and technology, redefines the concept of wall art, offering an ideal medium for experiencing digital art in any setting. Cable-free and with a battery life of up to one year on a single charge, this artistic frame can be freely mounted anywhere.

The display recreates the natural warmth and depth of paper, even at a monumental scale, ensuring visual comfort, while the Pininfarina-designed frame, finished in Alcantara, adds a soft tactile quality. Available in three Alcantara finishes (Light, Dark, and Brown) the frame reflects Pininfarina’s iconic automotive design: fluid, aerodynamic, and refined lines create a subtle curvature on the metal surface, evoking a sense of movement and precision.
