The beauty of imperfection – the kind naturally shaped by the passage of time, making it unique and unrepeatable – takes center stage in the Calcecreta collection by Marca Corona, the oldest ceramic company in the Sassuolo district, now part of the Concorde Group. Lime, earth, and clay are skillfully recreated with expert know-how, capturing their textural depth to bring warmth and softness to porcelain stoneware surfaces.
This effect is achieved through a rich pigmentation, the dynamic look of trowel marks, and an interplay of low-relief decorative patterns. Paired with natural, earthy tones – Spuma, Argilla, Bisque, Terracotta, and Selva – the collection gains a warm and reassuring expressiveness. Highly versatile, Calcecreta is a favorite within the architecture and design world. Its aesthetic generates nuances that lend graphic and chromatic depth, available in both the Natural and the non-slip Grip finish, which is also suitable for outdoor environments. These are solutions that blur the lines between indoors and outdoors, responding to the latest trends for seamless living spaces that flow from the inside out.
Supporting this exceptional design flexibility are five different sizes, ranging from 30×60 cm to 120×278 cm, in 6, 8.5, and 9 mm thicknesses. This is in addition to the new 7.5×60 cm Longarine Calcecreta format, whose elongated design lends itself to a host of stylistic and layout combinations. With Calcecreta, Marca Corona pays tribute to craftsmanship and its aesthetic value, creating a collection that balances tradition and modernity.
Rich with evocative power, much like a handcrafted object, its tactile surfaces evoke authenticity, making them suitable for both residential and contract projects. This is an attention to detail and care that is akin to art, a world the company has been connected to since its inception. It continues to engage with this world through initiatives like the “Marca Corona for Art” project and the “Marca Corona Award” for artists and designers under 35, both launched in 2022.
