There are few images more iconic than those of an Italian summer with its warm atmosphere and outdoor lifestyle. There’s the enveloping Mediterranean breeze, the terraces overlooking the sea, the views dotted with green and blue, and the playful conviviality of those who gather in the squares under the golden light of the sunset. There are colorful tables where socializing and familiarity are shared. It’s a universe of traditions, colors, and landscapes that has captivated the whole world. This typically Italian cultural and natural wealth inspired the new collection from Perennials, an American brand based in Dallas and founded by David and Ann Sutherland. The company specializes fabrics, rugs, wall coverings and accessories for indoor and outdoor spaces.

The aptly named collection, “La Dolce Vita,” captures the atmosphere and lifestyle made famous by Fellini’s film. It features fabrics, wall coverings, and rugs for indoor and outdoor spaces. The wall coverings and decorative elements create an ideal journey along the Italian coast, “inviting you to live beautifully and savor every moment, every texture, and every sip,” the company explains. “Because la dolce vita is not just a destination; it’s a state of mind.”

The La Dolce Vita spring collection celebrates life’s simple luxuries, to be savored through stylish details. These include soft upholstery fabrics for relaxing in the sun, beautiful tablecloths for aperitifs and lunches with friends, curtains that move with the breeze and let in light, and soft carpets for walking barefoot. The diverse motifs all share names and designs that strongly evoke the tradition of the Bel Paese.

Notable fabrics include Al Fresco, with its vibrant colors and botanical patterns; Nonna, a checkered fabric in natural hues; Bambino, with a small checkered weave and soft chenille texture; and Aria, a soft chenille made from high-performance, bio-based yarns.

Among the many rugs are Flora, which celebrates nature; Scusi, which features abstract spontaneity and candy colors; and Allora, which has a flat weave and rhythmic horizontal stripes. The wallcoverings are equally evocative and imaginative. They bring fabric patterns to surfaces, creating extremely immersive scenic backdrops. Each design tells a story of joy, warmth, and timeless elegance, drawing inspiration from travel, conviviality, and carefree living.
