Investing in innovation to transcend the boundaries of materials, technologies, and aesthetics: this is the manifesto with which Serralunga has established itself in the contemporary design landscape, and it is probably the key to its extraordinary longevity. Over two centuries of history bear witness to constant evolution, guided by a clear vision and a continuous commitment to research, aimed at developing original solutions, generating culture, and revolutionizing the sector. Founded in 1825 in Biella as a tannery, the company initially specialized in leather processing for industrial uses. With foresight, it then recognized the potential of plastics and, subsequently, of rotational molding technology, imported from the United States: a step that gave rise to a catalog of interior and exterior furnishings entirely Made in Italy.

Six generations later, the company continues to pursue its mission, which is to offer “new ways of living that allow us to rest and relax with furniture that enriches our lives,” according to the company. Today, this philosophy translates into a cutting-edge design approach that combines expressive power and performance. Examples of this include the use of mass colors, which guarantee uniformity and durability without color alteration, and the introduction of the innovative Clean Fighter compound: based on linear polyethylene, this material drastically reduces surface porosity (by over 90%), facilitating cleaning and improving the product’s resistance.

The Cassero planters designed by architect and interior designer Patricia Urquiola are part of this process. The collection includes a family of planters in different sizes, designed for outdoor use but also perfect for decorating indoor spaces. Cassero is distinctive in both its design and composition.

Patricia Urquiola was inspired by the molds used in construction when building with concrete: the monoblock pots are made of polyethylene with a precise concrete effect, conveying the visual and tactile sensation of having been cast and then extracted from a mold. This identity defines the entire family of pots, available in round and oval versions with Cassero Lungo, which can be combined to create dynamism in the environment. With Cassero, outdoor decoration also takes on an important design value, characterizing spaces and reinforcing their functionality.
