Rome, with its millennia-old history and unmistakable aura of beauty and culture, continues to be a crossroads of excellence. It is against this backdrop that Venini has chosen to open its first monobrand store in the capital, located at Via dei Due Macelli 64. The arrival of the historic Murano manufacturer in Rome marks a significant step in the growth strategy of the Damiani Group, of which the brand is a part. Following recent openings in international hubs such as Dubai and Hong Kong, and with further expansions planned, the company is consolidating its global presence. In this journey, Rome plays a key role, acting as a cultural and commercial bridge that enhances Venini’s heritage and projects its savoir-faire into the future, while simultaneously strengthening its connection with the Italian public and the international community of architects and designers.

The new exhibition space, spanning approximately 100 square meters, harmoniously integrates into Rome’s exclusive shopping district. Its three street-facing windows engage with the surrounding urban fabric, transforming the interior into a luminous setting that invites exploration. The interior architecture was conceived to reflect Venini’s essence: the fluidity of blown glass, the purity of forms, and the meticulous attention to detail are interpreted through a design that prioritizes neutrality and softness.

The materials chosen for the fit-out contribute to creating an immersive and cohesive environment. Venetian terrazzo, used for the flooring, is a direct nod to the lagoon tradition and the brand’s Murano roots, establishing a visual link with the displayed art glass. The walls, characterized by a neutral and continuous material finish, are designed to highlight the artworks, while a Rubelli fabric wallcovering, customized with a texture inspired by the renowned Balloton motif, adds a distinctive element. Strategically placed mirrors amplify light and volumetric perception, playing with transparency and depth. Details in satin brass and bronze, found in the display structures and reception desk, introduce warm and elegant reflections, while ebony wood, used in some modules, adds depth and contrast, elevating the sophistication of the space.

Naturally, glass is the undisputed protagonist. The display cabinets house a selection of Venini’s most representative collections, including Art Glass creations that celebrate Murano glass culture. Among these, the new Snow collection stands out, exploring the purity of white through a contemporary narrative. A striking transition is created by Gio Ponti‘s glass tiles, backlit to accentuate their colors and material depth, ideally connecting the store’s different areas. Rosso Venezia, the brand’s iconic color, serves as a visual common thread, uniting the spaces and reinforcing the maison’s identity.

The Roman space also hosts collectible design pieces, such as the “Stele” sculpture, a result of the collaboration between Venini and the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation. Created last year, this work translates the artist’s incisive language into glass, testifying to Venini’s commitment to engaging with leading figures in art and design. Alongside these, the Art Light proposals highlight the brand’s design capabilities.

The “Esprit” lighting installation, a chandelier that greets visitors at the entrance, is an example from the modular lighting collection, a strategic asset that demonstrates Venini’s ability to create bespoke solutions for high-end contract projects, from hospitality to luxury residential, positioning the brand as a key partner for architects and interior designers internationally.
