Some design objects are born timeless. Conceived to meet precise needs, they manage to overcome contexts and decades, maintaining their expressive power intact. Re-editions are not mere nostalgic operations, but cultural acts that restore continuity to exemplary projects, the result of radical visions and excellent craftsmanship.
Iconic and multifunctional, Pompei (on cover) is part of the collection of objects designed by Gio Ponti and reissued by Molteni&C. It can be used as a candelabra or a vase, and displayed as a centerpiece in any home environment. Suspended on just three supports, it recalls Ponti’s studies for daring architectural structures.
First presented by Charles and Ray Eames at the Detroit Institute of Arts in 1949, the Galaxy suspension lamp is now reissued by Cassina in an even larger version than before. The Idalion Luminoso lamp, designed by Alessandro Mendini between 1993 and 1994 for Venini, returns today in a refined re-edition that celebrates the excellence of its artisanal craftsmanship. This new version, in the Moka shade, is available in two heights: 24 and 45 cm. Made of blown glass, the lamp is entirely handcrafted by Murano master artisans.
Agapecasa presents the re-edition of the Schwob Table, designed by Angelo Mangiarotti and Bruno Morassutti in 1959. The precision-machined aluminum cross structure, with exposed mechanical joints, supports a marble top that rests on the base by pure gravity. Integrated side handles facilitate its movement.
Nemo introduces the outdoor edition of Applique à Volet Pivotant, bringing one of Charlotte Perriand’s most emblematic designs outdoors for the first time. Created in 1962 for her chalet in Méribel, the sconce, with its water-resistant white aluminum structure, emits indirect light towards the wall, combined with an adjustable flood beam.
