Founded in 1913 and surviving two world wars, the Clärchens Ballhaus, with its magnificent ‘Spiegelsaal’ (Hall of Mirrors), enlivened Berlin’s cultural scene. Now, German stage designer Uli Hanisch has restored this historic venue to its former glory as a gastronomic and cultural landmark.

Furniture, wood paneling, red velvet, wall decorations and a gilded ceiling have been restored to their former glory, combining the charm of the Hall of Mirrors with the more austere atmosphere of the other rooms. Occhio’s Sento suspended and Sento vertical luminaires, with a brushed bronze finish, were given the task of evoking the charm of the past. The possibility of directing their light beams either towards the gilded ceiling or towards the tables ensures free management of the luminaire through touchless control.
