Color is the point of contact between Pedro Almodóvar and Roche Bobois, and it is from this common element that the new Cromática collection is born. If the French company has always considered color an essential component of design, the Spanish artist uses it to give life to his visual narratives.

The main piece of the collaboration, a real excursus through the graphic and aesthetic world of the artist and director, is the Lounge modular sofa designed in 1971 by Hans Hopfer, founder of the French brand. In this new version – a limited edition of 50 numbered copies signed by Pedro Almodóvar – it is covered with iconic images and posters from the Spanish filmmaker’s films: Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Volver, Broken Embraces, Talk to Her, Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!, High Heels, The Flower of My Secret. In addition to the limited-edition version, the Lounge sofa is also available in a simple fabric version, faithful to the spirit of the original 1971 design. The painted supports, available in different colors or tone-on-tone, frame the whole.

The Cromática collection also includes the Pepa coffee tables with rounded corners, designed by Maurizio Manzoni, on whose top is reproduced a photo taken by the director; the Bubble armchairs designed by Sacha Lakic and presented, to celebrate their tenth anniversary, in four new colors inspired by the color palette selected by him; the Rondo Unit storage units whose doors are decorated with four new images taken from the posters of the films Ataque, Tacones, Mujeres, and the reproduction of a photograph by Pedro Almodóvar.

In addition to the cushions that feature colors, designs and motifs related to the films, the carpets could not be missing: three feature graphics taken from the opening titles of as many films, the fourth reproduces the El Deseo decoration, designed by Pedro Almodóvar, which imitates the viewfinder of a camera.

Among the 2025 novelties of Roche Bobois, also the capsule collection and the vanity The Eye, designed by Rossy de Palma, a multifaceted artist and muse of the director. The first is composed of decorative accessories inspired by feminine objects such as the fan, present in vases and carpets, and the “peineta”, the traditional comb inserted in the hair that gives shape to floor and table lamps. For the second, Rossy de Palma explains, «I imagined a unique and poetic vanity with a mirror that represents an eye, in which you look at yourself to take care of yourself».
