Located within the 23 hectares of Parco Miralfiore in Pesaro, one of the city’s main natural areas, Villa Miralfiore opens its doors to the public for the first time – by reservation only. This Renaissance-style residence, with centuries of history, has recently undergone a restoration aimed at both conservation and public access.
Since 1992, the villa has been owned by the Livi family, founders and owners of Fiam Italia, a leader in curved glass manufacturing. It now serves as a space for institutional representation and as a tribute to glass as a design language. The ground floor rooms host a museum with works created for artists such as Arnaldo Pomodoro, Emilio Isgrò, and Bruno Munari. The former orangery has been converted into a space for temporary exhibitions. The frescoed rooms on the piano nobile feature a permanent design collection, with pieces by Cini Boeri, Philippe Starck, Enzo Mari, Marcel Wanders, Daniel Libeskind, and others, displayed in dialogue with the extraordinary 16th-century decorative scheme by the Zuccari brothers.
The restoration project involved both the villa and its historic garden, developed starting in the 18th century. Special attention was given to the preservation of monumental trees, with targeted actions to ensure their structural stability and ecological role.
New digital technologies have been integrated along the pathways: QR codes, virtual tours, and VR headsets allow for broader accessibility, including for visitors with reduced mobility. The project also includes a new educational space and an advanced security system.
«Thanks to the support of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), Villa Miralfiore is finally opening its doors», said Daniele Livi, CEO of Fiam Italia. «It is a place where nature, art, and design come together, offering the city a space for culture and beauty that is inclusive and open to all, reflecting a new vision for contemporary heritage».
