Wood as the authentic protagonist. With its grain, its warm tactility, its direct synergy with the natural landscape. Marco Acerbis imagines a collection for Talenti that enhances wood with formal purity, combining aesthetics and craftsmanship. Thus Jun was born, a collection for experiencing the outdoors through the beauty of simplicity. From the Japanese word meaning ‘pure and sincere’, Jun eschews all artifice to create a family of seats with an essential design, like an architectural gesture that invites relaxation. The heart of the collection is in fact the natural teak structure, carefully crafted to create soft curves in the profiles, which have been reduced to a minimum.

A design challenge to express both visual lightness and solidity. ‘The structure blends with the upholstery fabrics of the back and armrest almost as if they were one, giving a sense of two-dimensionality,’ explains the designer. This enveloping minimalism relates with harmonious contrast to the ample and generous upholstery of the cushions: a sophisticated tension that defines the entire collection.

Jun’s materiality finds an original expression in the table that is part of the furnishing proposal: teak wood frames the glass-effect porcelain stoneware top, a combination that gives a diffused sensoriality, in the union of distinct textures as much as in the play of reflections that develop in natural light. The collection then expands to create a complete set of outdoor furniture: modular sofas, chairs, armchairs, tables and coffee tables, lounge seating.

Furniture that lives in combinations of refined stylistic coherence, designed to resist and last in the en plein air context, but also to create a dialogue with the natural surroundings. For this reason Talenti has expanded its colour palette with new vibrant shades, specifically light blue, green and beige: colours that in Jun, combined with the vital energy of wood, enhance the graphic sign of the seats and create a continuum with the infinity of the horizon and the depth of shades of trees and meadows.

With Jun, Talenti and Marco Acerbis continue their collaboration based on functional, authentic, stylish design. A path that last year led to the creation of MrX, the innovative shading pergola with compass opening. An avant-garde concept that earned it the Compasso d’Oro 2024.
