Reykjavik, nestled between the arm of the sea and the lava fields, is a symphony of soft colors and Nordic lights. Here, where modernity whispers ancient stories, stands the Iceland Parliament Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton, a place where time seems to dance between past and future. A landmark for luxury hospitality, this recently opened hotel complex is a true journey into the collective Icelandic memory. Seven buildings, united in a harmonious embrace, tell the story of this land: from the ancient telecommunications headquarters to the first female school, up to the Independence Hall.
The architect Paolo Gianfrancesco, from the THG Arkitektar studio, has skillfully orchestrated this complex narrative: “We have extracted the individual pieces of the story to create a fluid narrative, a unique experience for the guest.” In this ambitious 14,500 sq m project, contemporary design merges with the architecture of the past, creating an atmosphere of refined elegance.

On the outside, the hotel reflects the traditional style of the center of Reykjavik, with buildings of modest size, sloping roofs, and varied colors. For the exteriors, FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti, a leading company in the production of ceramic surfaces, chose Quarzite in the Ghiaccio color, a material that harmoniously dialogues with cement, diorite, and metal.
Inside, eclecticism reigns supreme, with opaque and glossy surfaces, warm and cold colors, custom-made furnishings, and contrasting styles. The coverings by FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti, together with other brands of the Iris Ceramica Group, give a touch of exclusivity to each environment. On the ground floor, the ancient Iceland Telecom now houses a bar and a restaurant from bygone times, embellished with MaxFine Connemarble Irish. On the floor, Quarzite by FMG welcomes guests with its discreet elegance.

In the basement, the luxurious Spa offers an oasis of well-being with Quarzite by FMG, which creates an intimate and comfortable atmosphere. The MaxFine slabs, with their marble and stone textures, embellish the walls, creating sumptuous scenographies. Marmi MaxFine Travertino covers the reception and massage cabins, while MaxFine Amazonite and Onice Malaga add a touch of color to the Turkish bath and lounge.
In the bathrooms of the rooms, Marmi MaxFine White Calacatta enhances the brightness and elegance of the environments. With its high-quality technical ceramic surfaces, FMG has been able to interpret the concept of luxury hospitality, offering solutions that combine exceptional technical performance and refined aesthetic suggestions, for a demanding and international clientele.
