Two pieces are added to the diverse puzzle of the Technogym world, a brand that has reinvented the concept of fitness. The goal is, once again, to increase a deep awareness of the body and promote individual and collective health. It starts with the exhibition The Art of Wellness, open to visitors during Milan Design Week in the showroom on Via Durini 1. The exhibition takes visitors on a journey to discover the first tools for physical exercise in history.
The vaulting horse, for example, used for military training in Roman and medieval times, was later defined by the German pedagogue Friedrich Ludwig Jahn, in the 19th century, with its current features (wooden base, metal core, covered in padding and leather). Or the exercise bike, whose first official patent dates back to 1796, when Francis Lowndes developed the first stationary bicycle for home exercises, evolving centuries later with the inclusion of electronics and technology.

The ‘journey’ leads to the birth of Technogym in 1983, thanks to the intuition of Nerio Alessandri who, at 22 years old, designed the first piece of equipment to train strength in a controlled and correct way, in the garage of his house in Cesena. From here, it is an escalation traveled in 40 years of success, which leads to the recent Healthness, a vision that aims to revolutionize the future of well-being and prevention with Precision Training programs, personalized according to individual lifestyles.
During the visit to the exhibition, the brand’s design and innovation are also celebrated by the photographic book of the same name published by Assouline. And, before leaving, it is possible to perform a test of your physical and cognitive parameters with Technogym Checkup and have a targeted training program prescribed. A guided, immersive and connected experience, just like the one offered by Technogym Reform, an element for the practice of Pilates developed in collaboration with the best instructors in the world.

All components – headrest, shoulder rest, footbar and springs – are designed to limit interruptions and maintain high concentration during practice, thanks to an intuitive and rapid adjustment that allows fluidity in the transition between exercises. Accessible and effective for users of all levels, from beginners to experts, Technogym Reform is supported by on-demand videos available on the Technogym App, for a guided Pilates experience. Naturally, the aesthetic and constructive level is also high. The three color versions available – Sandstone, Pearl Gray and Diamond Black – make it suitable for use at home as well. And the materials used, such as wood, aluminum, vegan leather and marine ropes, are expressed in ergonomic forms that maximize comfort and functionality, reflecting the company’s commitment to sustainability that does not compromise performance.
