Crogiolo Terramater by Marazzi

The 1970s are back and are being felt everywhere: in furniture, in fabrics, in upholstery. The charm of that daring and experimental era continues to inspire contemporary trends with new energy. The world of ceramics is no different: it has welcomed this contamination with enthusiasm, reinterpreting it in a modern key thanks to the most advanced technologies. Thus was born Terramater by Marazzi, the new porcelain stoneware collection of the Crogiolo line, which celebrates vintage design with a contemporary twist. The ceramics of the 1970s are revived in this collection through iconic formats and a palette of seven deep, intense colours obtained by blending special glazes and natural oxides.

The result is floor and wall coverings rich in detail and vibrant with materiality, capable of conveying warmth and emotion. But Terramater is not just aesthetics: thanks to cutting-edge design innovations, the collection is also conceived from a sustainable perspective, reducing its environmental impact. A perfect balance between past and future, tradition and innovation, for environments with timeless charm. The new collection is designed with sustainability in mind, with Italian raw materials and 60% recycled material.

A value that fits into Marazzi’s ‘Open Circle’ philosophy, a concrete commitment to a more responsible industry. The objective? To limit the consumption of natural resources and reduce the environmental impact through the morphological and vegetational recovery of quarries, controlled waste management and the reuse of industrial water.

Thanks to these innovative processes, ceramic production becomes a true closed cycle, where aesthetics and technology meet to improve people’s lives and respect the environment. This research into materials, glazes and surfaces then pays homage to a design icon: the 50th anniversary of Marazzi’s revolutionary single-firing patent. A tribute to tradition, with an eye always turned to the future.

With this defined identity, Terramater offers endless composition possibilities in its modular formats – square and two rectangles with a 37.5 cm base – for both indoor and outdoor use, thus revealing its durability, versatility and performance.

The surface creates plays of light and tactile sensations thanks to three-dimensional structures: with its parallel-striped pattern and rectangular format, Ritmo creates a dynamic surface where the three-dimensional crests of the burnt earth enamel highlight the texture of the matt finish in a play of light. The Losanga design evokes the refinement of classic motifs in which red enamel reliefs emerge for a decorative effect.
