A blend of energy and calm, romance and simplicity. Hotel Hana in Paris serves as a true style showcase, where the city’s refined late 19th-century lifestyle meets pure Japanese minimalism. This fusion of contrasting yet complementary aesthetics mirrors the personalities of the project’s creators: Laura Gonzalez, a talented architect and interior designer, and Olivier Leone, a fashion art director on his first hotel venture.

As the newest addition to the Adresses Hotels Collection, Hotel Hana—which translates to ‘flower’ in Japanese—embodies the brand’s philosophy of telling the local neighborhood’s story through unique decor and ambiance. It is located at 17 Rue du 4 septembre, between the majestic Opéra Garnier and Place de la Bourse, in what became known as ‘little Tokyo’ during the Belle Époque when the Japanese diaspora found a home here. Inside the hotel, housed in a historic building, guests encounter a serene and vibrant experience crafted with an interplay of rich brocade fabrics, floral and striped patterns, ikebana arrangements, and wall decor reminiscent of Japanese Fusuma panels.

The atmosphere throughout is elegant and welcoming, enhanced by spatial fluidity that allows natural light to grace every corner. Opulence meets the simplicity of the Japanese wabi-sabi philosophy, which finds beauty in imperfection and invites a slower pace of life. This harmonious blend is realized through the expert craftsmanship of skilled artisans, seen in bespoke furnishings like the restaurant’s counter that invites diners to watch the culinary action, or the intricate bar decor.
The 26 rooms, including a suite, exude calmness with an aesthetic that embraces the richness of simplicity by eliminating excess. Guests are encouraged to relax amid materials such as iroko wood furnishings, straw wall coverings, two-toned marble bathrooms, and custom rugs designed by Laura Gonzalez and crafted by Marguerite Lemaire and Pierre Frey.

The pursuit of a tranquil refuge also takes a physical form in the hotel’s spa with a pool, offering a sanctuary for self-care through Japanese-inspired treatments like Reiki, Kobido, reflexology drainage, or Chi Nei Tsang, far away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world.
