Skiing is not just a sport, it’s a way of life. The allure of the mountains, the thrill of speed, and that touch of worldliness that creates true rituals that culminate in the inevitable après-ski that closes the day.

From the snow-covered slopes to the refuges and the high altitude gatherings, the images immediately recall the cinematic atmospheres of the quintessentially Italian Dino De Laurentiis’ films, which had already defined the contemporary trend of interpreting the slopes not only as a sporting arena, but also as a refined and carefree setting for life. The same atmosphere is recreated in the design, with minimal lines and soft materials that evoke the lightness of the winter season.

The Abstract Garden rug collection, designed by Elisa Ossino for Amini, seems to be the ideal backdrop: canvases interwoven with fantastic images overcome the two-dimensional constraints that usually relegate a rug to the surface to become a soft bunch of grapes (Uva) or a Manifesto of her thoughts. In both cases, the designer personally selected the wool and the craftsmanship that allowed her ideas to be translated into unique pieces.

The snowy white landscape returns perfectly in the Adrenalina White Pure collection: the brand chooses the color white to emphasize essential lines and iconic shapes that find a new expression. This includes the Nefelibata sofa, signed by the young designers of Stormo Studio. White is also used for the Roopa table by Arper (by Doshi Levien), which is characterized by its sculptural character and the contrast between the matt structure and the glossy top.

It is up to the glass to recreate the play of transparency and light of the winter landscape. A vase, such as the iconic Vase à fleurs échancré in blown glass designed by Charlotte Perriand in the 1940s and reissued by Cassina, or the Infinita lamp by Martinelli Luce (design Marta Sansoni), with its ethereal purity and modular geometries. Reflections are amplified in the new Bellhop Glass T table lamp by Flos (designed by Barber & Osgerby), thanks to its opal glass diffuser and cylindrical aluminum base.

The warm, fluffy effect is created by the upholstery: the Mongolian fur that covers the two wheels of Due Più by Acerbis (a re-edition of Nanda Vigo’s historic ’71 armchair); the soft cushions of the Adiada armchair by Fendi Casa, which soften the angular volumes; again the Mongolian fur, this time in leather, of the Aura pouf by Hannes Peer for Baxter, part of the sofa collection of the same name.

A series of glamorous accessories complete the look, starting with the timeless Moon Boot, snow boots born in 1969, Compasso d’Oro in 2022 and still the bestsellers of the winter season. For those looking for style in sport, Saint Laurent offers its signature decorated snowboard, made in collaboration with ZAI. And for the home, the new version of another classic, designed by Guido Drocco and Franco Mello in 1972: the Cactus by Gufram in the new ‘boring’ (their definition) version, in a sober shade of gray.
