New York’s Bergdorf Goodman department store is hosting an exhibition curated by Salon Art + Design, the renowned event in the collectible art and design scene, until April 13. The initiative creates a new setting for the spaces on the building’s seventh floor, dedicated to the world of furniture and lifestyle.
For the first time, Salon Art + Design, which offers a curated selection of decorative and figurative art, will leave the traditional exhibition spaces and become an immersive 360-degree experience, where art and design will be displayed in a context that evokes the spaces of a home.
The exhibition features work from galleries that participated in the last edition of the fair in New York last November, including Onishi Gallery, Galerie Gabriel, J. Lohmann Gallery, Liz O’Brien, Verso and Room 57 Gallery. An eclectic mix that brings together different worlds: contemporary ceramics, Japanese art, design by 20th century masters, and today’s avant-garde.
“This partnership is an exciting evolution of Salon’s mission to make collectible design accessible to a broader audience”, said Nicky Dessources, Executive Director of Salon Art + Design. “Bringing these extraordinary works to Bergdorf Goodman – a landmark synonymous with luxury and innovation – offers an unparalleled opportunity to connect with design enthusiasts in a new and inspiring way.”
Andrew Mandell, Head of Bergdorf Goodman’s Decorative Home and Jewelry Division, commented, “We are thrilled to collaborate with Salon Art + Design to present an exhibition that exemplifies the pinnacle of artistry and craftsmanship. Bergdorf Goodman has always been a destination for discovering the extraordinary, and this partnership allows us to offer our clients a unique opportunity to engage with some of the finest galleries and designers in the world.”
This collaboration marks a moment of significant growth for Salon Art + Design as it expands its presence in the United States. In addition to the return of its flagship event at New York’s Park Avenue Armory in November (for 2025, March 6-10), Salon will also debut in Dallas March 26-30.
