Comfort remains at the forefront of this year’s design trends. This translates to rounded, organic lines, and fluffy, enveloping volumes. It’s not just a fleeting trend; rather, it’s a longstanding approach to interior design that’s evolving into an array of ever-more comfortable and well-being-focused expressions. The relationship between design and well-being is now inseparable, with furniture seen as a means to bring serenity and harmony into environments and to their users.

Following these principles, Pedrali has shaped many of its seating collections to strike a balance between residential and commercial use: sofas that become multifunctional islands of relaxation, armchairs that serve as cozy nests for socializing or quiet introspection. This versatile functionality is a common thread throughout Pedrali’s offerings, enriched by generous padding and an “oversized” appeal in many new products to ensure extra comfort in every setting.

This philosophy is perfectly illustrated in the new Lamorisse Lounge & Sofa, expanding the Lamorisse collection, originally designed by CMP Design as an outdoor armchair. The indoor lounge chair and two-seater sofa maintain the signature feature of spacious, removable cushions that nest comfortably into the base and backrest, providing a soft embrace.

The back cushions are intentionally flexible to accommodate various postures, and they extend beyond the structure to emphasize softness. This ideal is also reflected in the round-section armrests, made from FSC® C114358 certified bent ash wood.

The Nolita outdoor collection has also expanded with a softer touch: initially a chair, armchair, stool, then a sunbed and sofa, and now an armchair. The new Nolita Relax mirrors the collection’s design features—lightness and transparency from steel tubing—but in larger dimensions, accentuating the perimeter element that forms both armrests and backrests.

CMP Design drew aesthetic and material inspiration from the metal garden chairs created by Mario Pedrali, the company’s founder, in the 1960s. The studio has transposed this heritage into a complete line of contemporary furniture. Consequently, the collection now includes soft cushions (protected by waterproof covers and clad with removable outdoor fabrics) that soften its appearance, making it ideal for home living spaces and hospitality lounges.

This versatility is signature to Pedrali furnishings and is also evident in Arki-Sofa, an outdoor lounge seating system that captures the comfort and elegance of an indoor sofa. Once again, Pedrali revisits the DNA of the iconic Arki collection, with its extruded aluminum frame and linear, rigorous features, reinterpreted in a design with extremely generous volumes lightened by an airy structure. The base’s feet keep the seat suspended above the ground, while a cylindrical teak element defining the armrests and backrests adds warm materiality with a pure geometric form.

Speaking of voluminous upholstery, Buddy Oasi deserves mention—a playful tribute to informal comfort by Busetti Garuti Redaelli. The hallmark of this system of poufs and sofas is its rounded lines and generous sizes, as well as movable, elongated polyurethane foam backrests that can be freely positioned on the pouf, allowing for various configurations. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, the collection maintains a balance between the lightness of the frame and the fullness of the seat.
