Transferring knowledge with AI

How can one transfer product knowledge and company culture to people on the other side of the world? Salvatori’s multilingual remote training platform does just that, utilizing AI

With extensive research, profound knowledge of artificial intelligence models, and the involvement of collaborators and “nerd” friends for experimentation and sharing results, Salvatori has developed a multilingual remote training tool based on AI. “Technology is a strong passion of mine; I have been studying and engaging with artificial intelligence for nearly five years,” says Gabriele Salvatori, CEO of the family-run company renowned for its design work with natural stone.

Due to the company’s international growth, it was necessary to develop a tool capable of directly reaching distant salespeople, bypassing potentially dispersive steps. Generally, product knowledge is passed from sales managers to country managers, then to area managers, and eventually to showroom salespeople, who relay it to architects. “So I asked myself,” continues Gabriele Salvatori, “how can we train the last link in the chain directly, who is ultimately the strongest?” The result was a sophisticated multilingual remote training platform structured into “modules,” providing not only product training but also education on design and Italian culture.

“We have a dedicated section on art history and another on the history of Italian design, with modules lasting 3 to 5 minutes on masters like Carlo Scarpa and Carlo Mollino. It’s important for those selling our products on the other side of the world to know who they are, as well as contemporary figures like Patricia Urquiola and Piero Lissoni. For instance, we’ve produced a mini-documentary on Lissoni’s educational and professional journey, including encounters with fellow designers Rodolfo Dordoni and Giulio Cappellini.” Each of these contents is translated into over 10 languages using AI and delivered in real-time across the Salvatori network.

“I must say,” concludes Gabriele Salvatori, “all our efforts in AI are helping immensely, not just externally but also regarding internal processes.” The future has already begun.
