Excellence, research, innovation and sustainability in the nautical world are the focus of the Design Innovation Award, an award created in 2020 and organized by Confindustria Nautica and I Saloni Nautici. Now in its fifth edition, it takes the form of “a look into the future,” in the words of Andrea Razeto, president of I Saloni Nautici. “The winning projects show emerging trends and new frontiers in nautical design and become a point of reference for the entire industry, inspiring new designers and companies to aim higher and higher.”
Ten winners (in as many categories) attended the gala event held at the historic Palazzo della Borsa in Genoa. They were joined by three Special Innovation and Career Awards, given to projects that stand out for their originality, sustainability and social impact.
The selection and evaluation of the nearly one hundred entries was carried out by an independent jury chaired (for the second time) by the President of the Salone del Mobile.Milano, Maria Porro, and composed of Andrea Ratti – Executive Director MSc. Yacht Design Politecnico di Milano, Andrana Monk – Founder of Monk Design, Carlo Cameli – President Yacht Club Italiano, Franco Michienzi – Editor in Chief of Barche magazine, Nabil Farhat – Publisher and Editor in Chief of The World of Yachts, Robin Edman – Designer and former President of the Bureau of European Design Associations and Luisa Bocchietto – Architect, Designer and Member of the DIA Steering Committee.
