For Kettal, bringing nature into the office context was almost an innate choice. The brand has shaped its history and identity through outdoor furniture, developing a design that is in constant symbiosis with the open-air environment in terms of materials, style, and atmosphere. When the company recently expanded its design approach to encompass the entire home, this philosophy was applied to new indoor proposals: the organic lines, natural raw materials, and the comfortable, relaxing character typical of its outdoor collections are now found in furniture designed for contemporary living. Kettal has thus created a unified and harmonious living universe where indoor and outdoor spaces interact seamlessly.
Part of this renewed vision for interiors is the new collection A designed by Naoto Fukasawa. It includes armchairs and tables for the workplace, with naturalness as its distinctive feature: it’s made from oak wood, in both natural and dark colors. This choice provides an extreme sensory experience to the touch and sight, in addition to an ideal of well-being and sustainability given by the raw material.
Thus, the collection A accompanies moments of home working, adding functionality to a more refined domestic aesthetics. Similarly, it brings a residential style to the more technical office environment. The minimal and organic look of the collection adapts to any context, adding a familiar and elegant touch. “Chairs and desks made from solid wood are not very common in work environments,” explains the designer. “The concept of workspaces that integrate home and office has changed, and I believe it has moved in this direction.” The armchairs in the collection play with the lightness and sinuosity of lines—both in the structure and in the cushioned seat and backrest.
They also reveal their practicality thanks to the possibility of stacking them to optimize space. The tables are equally versatile in their essential graphics and pronounced thicknesses, offered in three sizes and variants: Home Deck, Meeting Table, and Workstation. The Home Deck and Workstation tables can be equipped with accessories from the same collection, such as the A table lamp in ceramic, the front and side desk dividers in natural wicker, and the ceramic power and USB sockets. “The contact of our hands and bodies with wood means coexisting with trees and getting closer to nature,” continues the designer. “It means living together. Wooden rounds do not cast marked lines of shadow into space. It is a warm beauty in harmony with air, light, and people.”
