A vibrant concept of life, playful but also refined: this is what emerges in the apparel, accessories and above all the fragrances of Loewe, the Spanish brand that began in a small leather-working shop in Madrid in 1872, with a history of outstanding success – the company has been the official supplier to the royal family in various eras, and Ava Gardner was one of its fervent fans.
The offerings of Loewe always avoid stereotypes, with an inimitable cultural imprint, in tune with the skill of craftsmen. This is borne out by the annual Craft Prize, coordinated by Sheila Loewe (who began her career with Vitra), or the international award for poetry, both organized by the Loewe Foundation. We should also mention the refined refurbishing of the brand’s stores, the CasasLoewe: in Barcelona a modernist house has been renovated, and another is due to open soon in Madrid, for an immersive experience.
Today the brand is announcing a new, prestigious collaboration with another Spanish brand known all over the world for its artistic porcelain creations: Lladró. The result is Loewe Perfumes x Lladró, a capsule collection of fragrances where the design of the packaging is particularly refined, in continuity with the idea that multiple senses should be involved in the experience of a single product. Founded in 1953, Llandró has a single workshop in Valencia where sculptors and artisans combine age-old techniques with a palette of colors and finishes in ongoing evolution.
Each limited-edition bottle contains one of the three iconic fragrances of the Botanical Rainbow range by Loewe, for a total of nine: a daring, inclusive and colorful collection, inspired by nature and featuring an exclusive design for the bottle in the form of a block, by the creative director Jonathan Anderson. The bottles of each perfume, 600 in the entire world, are topped by a cap in the form of a flower, made by hand in porcelain, with a different color for each scent: pink for Loewe Earth (a floral, amber and musk fragrance, with notes of truffle, pear, mimosa and violet), pure white for Loewe 001 Woman (with notes of bergamot, Tonka bean and musk), and blue for Loewe Agua Drop (woody, floral and amber, with notes of the absolute in orange blossoms and bergamot).
The delicate porcelain petals, made and painted by hand, blend classical beauty with a sculptural reinterpretation of nature. These one-of-a-kind pieces are genuine art objects: creations based on the gestures of artisans, expressing the botanical inspiration that lies at the center of the perfume itself, embraced by the two brands.
