Ketch by Poliform, design Jean-Marie Massaud

The new Poliform range of outdoor furnishings makes its official debut in New York from 16 to 23 May. The presentation happens in the heart of Manhattan, inside the spaces of the brand’s iconic showroom at 112 Madison Avenue, which already displays the company’s total home collection, including the latest offerings of furniture and complements for the living area, the night zone and the kitchen.

For NYCxDesign, one of the liveliest international design events and the backbone of New York’s design week, Poliform is part of an intense program of events, exhibitions and conferences, attracting thousands of sector professionals and design lovers from all over the world every year. The brand has expanded its know-how into the dimension of en plein air, reformulating its concept of “total design”; at the same time, it has reinforced its position on the American market, with a new focus on contemporary lifestyle, based on concepts of comfort, elegance, innovation attention to detail and the quality of materials, all pillars of the Poliform identity.

The outdoor range includes the Ketch collection of seats and tables in solid iroko wood, inspired by the world of yachting and created by the French designer-architect Jean-Marie Massaud, who has also contribute the Crew tables in pure glazed ceramic.

Among the most successful offerings, the Land collection of kitchens is made in aluminium, Inalco MDi® and steel, all materials that are perfect for outdoor use: without requiring electrical connections and outfitted with a sink, a cutting board and a barbecue grill, this line of products provides an outdoor cooking experience at the highest levels.

The new outdoor developments combine functional quality and resistance to weather with the distinctive styling of the Poliform indoor collections. The mixture of comfort and reliability can be seen, for example, in the flexible backs of the Ketch seating, bringing lightness to the solidity of the support structure, stretched like a sail between the two masts of a boat. The result is an outdoor space that reflects the elegance of the interior décor, establishing a harmonious dialogue between the private sphere and the landscape, in a totally seamless approach.

A sort of fusion that responds to the needs of contemporary living, where the idea of a fluid, homogeneous space becomes a vital priority. To celebrate this important debut, Poliform will host an exclusive cocktail party on 17 May at the showroom, organized by the Flatiron/Nomad district in which the single-brand store plays an active role, strengthening the company’s ties with the Big Apple, a city where Poliform has had firm roots for over two decades.
