Designer, art director and artisan, Vito Nesta takes inspiration from foreign culture and uses his travels as an ongoing source of input for his work. His creative thinking goes into very different projects, all of which can be traced back to an inimitable aesthetic, a classic and at times exotic style, in keeping with the designer’s distinctive character. His clients have included the likes of Devon & Devon, Riva 1920, Roche Bobois, Sanbonet, San Patrignano, just to name a few.

His career has also led to exhibitions in locations like Palazzo Reale in Genoa, for the solo show Diario di un designer. Sessantanove giorni nel segno di Vito Nesta, curated by Alessandro Valenti and Luca Parodi. Or the Grand Hotel et de Milan, in the rooms of Giuseppe Verdi, for Musica da Viaggio, curated by Annalisa Rosso.

For Fuorisalone 2024 the designer returned with the exhibition Nella pancia del Guerriero, curated by Sara Ricciardi, which narrated the universe of Alessandro Guerriero and the recent collaboration between the founder of the Alchimia movement and the designer from Apulia of the Grand Tour trademark. The event featured the development of Alchimie, the collection of porcelain and complements resulting from the encounter between an intellectual exponent of the Italian post-avant-garde and the designer from Apulia with a vividly cosmopolitan spirit. The series of objects narrates a sentimental journey in the form of porcelain creations and accessories, combining Nesta’s style with the poetics of Guerriero.

The exhibition, conceived as a journey in the inner workings of Guerriero and his imagination, was organized in a free layout in relation to the patchworks of objects and writings on the walls. A large pink room with annotations cast on the ground crystallized the thoughts and instants leading to inspiration in the space. The protagonists of the itinerary were the pieces of Alchimie together with the furnishings and creations of the great master, arriving from galleries all over the world.
