In a spirit of responsibility as well as celebration, Baglietto is preparing for its 170th anniversary in 2024. The prestigious shipyard has organized an ambitious project with the support of Marine Interiors, a company of Gruppo Fincantieri specialized in seagoing interiors, the coordination of YACademy, one of the world’s most prestigious post-graduate international design schools, and the collaboration of professionals from the world of luxury design.

The objective is not only to instill in new generations the passion and essence of one of the most important nautical traditions in the world, but also to identify and train future creative specialists in the field. The approach is intelligently multidisciplinary, covering not only yacht design but also fashion, jewelry and furniture. The four paths of training intertwine research, experimentation and dialogue.

For fashion, the coordination is by Tiziana Fausti and 10 Corso Como; for product design, Nicholas Bewick, Architecture Art Director inside the famous studio AMDL CIRCLE; the jewelry program is overseen by Rosa Maria Villani, coordinator and director of the Scuola dell’Arte della Medaglia of the State Mint and Polygraphic Institute; while the nautical sector relies on the contribution of Francesco Paszkowski, a designer of reference for the Baglietto shipyard for over 30 years.

Applications to take part in Officina Baglietto must be submitted by the end of October 2023, while the initiative becomes operative in December 2023, first with a training period in La Spezia, and then entering the facilities of the partners (in Milan, Rome and Florence), for an intensive program of design work, followed by insertion or collaboration with the Baglietto shipyard or other luxury brands.

The protagonists are design products inspired by the world of Baglietto. As an acclaimed designer, Francesco Paszkowski comments: “I believe we need to transmit passion and experience to young people. To help them understand that professionalism is not just a matter of expertise and creativity, but also of entrepreneurial action, involving managerial abilities. I am excited to take part in Officina Baglietto, also to put my experience as a designer and entrepreneur at the service of new generations of nautical designers.”
