The collaboration between Giorgetti and the architect-designer Carlo Colombo has continued for over ten years. A decade and more, in which a relationship based on reciprocal knowledge, personal affinities and swapped visions has been consolidated in a productive way. Over time, Carlo Colombo has reinterpreted the style, philosophy and values of Giorgetti, through furnishing solutions for the entire home, responding to trends while keeping faith with the sartorial elegance that is a shared earmark of both the designer and the company.

From complements to seating, tables to beds: the results of this collaboration are revealed in a multiplicity of creations in which an accent on materials always goes hand in hand with extremely delicate forms. These are the indispensable principles of Giorgetti’s production, also in the case of upholstered furnishings (armchairs and sofas) that combine exceptional qualities of comfort and softness.

In the vast repertoire by Carlo Colombo the evolution of upholstered furnishings sets out to combine the sensation of enveloping welcome with an airy, essential visual effect, as perfectly demonstrated by the latest creation in this category, the SoHo modular sofa.

Pure forms, rigorous volumes and contemporary lines are the identifying features. The result is a system for maximum seating comfort, which seems to float over the ground. The seductive impact emerges in large compositions of the SoHo system, which thanks to the many available elements and two different seat depths can be used for various design solutions, for different spaces and different uses.

“SoHo is a very modern product. It is a light, airy sofa, perched on aluminium feet – says Carlo Colombo. – SoHo is a versatile product aimed at a very broad audience. I imagine it in an elegant home in Milan or Paris, but also in a hypermodern house in Miami or Los Angeles.”

In fact, like a multitasking island SoHo can accompany moments of relaxation and socializing, or situations of working from home; to this end, the system offers accessories that are both decorative and functional, like the Anthology inlaid or ash wood tables. The force of the product’s distinctive nature lies in attention to detail: the continuous stitching that extends from the armrest to the rear portion of the back, and the tips of the visible feet, made with production scrap in solid Pau Ferro wood, a unique, rare and precious wood variety from South America, deeply linked to the roots of Giorgetti.
