The prestigious spaces of the Contemporary Cluster Apartamento in Rome, until 7 January 2023, host Burning Bright, the first solo exhibition by Serena Confalonieri, in an installation for the discovery of a world of dreamy imagery, where color is the main leitmotif.

Inspired by the concept of expanded perception of William Blake, as expressed in the poem “The Tyger,” the designer has formulated a path of interpretation of her own philosophy, a psychedelic voyage in which the senses are stimulated by forceful hues and kaleidoscopic patterns.

The exhibition winds through 7 different rooms, each containing works created for design companies like Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, Illulian, Lanificio Leo, l’Opificio, Medulum,  Servomuto and many others, as well as a selection of projects never displayed before.

Games of form, bright colors and rigorous geometry alternate with soft, captivating lines. The universe created by Serena Confalonieri is irresistible, as demonstrated by the plates of the Kyma line for Sambonet, the Calypso collection arranged horizontally over a mountain of sand like a mandala, and the Layla lamps created for MM Lampadari, or the Starlight wallpaper by Wall&decò, the last items along the exhibition itinerary.

The latter, like twinkling stars, offer further evidence of a creative world in constant evolution, in incessant pursuit of new expressive languages that take form through functional objects.
