“Time to live, to create, to play, to relax”

Presenting new developments and the great bestsellers, including the famous Nathalie bed by Vico Magistretti (created in 1978 and still revolutionary today), the Flou 2022 catalogue becomes a place of research and experimentation with forms, materials, combinations and functional subdivisions of spaces and settings. It illustrates four different homes, four “Time to…” themes for the narration of the collections, capturing the everyday life of the inhabitants in an honest, engaging way.

An updated concept to bring out the value of décor offerings rigorously rooted in fine craftsmanship, portrayed in perspectives and wide-angle shots ranging from the living area to the night zone and also including outdoor spaces. The latest creations include the MyPlace, Gaudí and Layla beds, which stand out for their soft, welcoming character, in warm, well-balanced earth tones that are interpreted in an ample selection of finishes for wood, fabrics and leathers, flanked by a series of complements and accessories for the bedroom zone.

Like the valet stand, a traditional accessory reinterpreted by Flou in a contemporary, minimal tone, while preserving all the usefulness and decorative value of the item as we know it. Its name, Servomuto Vestito, refers to the padded textile covering, a removable ‘garment’ that follows and retraces the shapes, drawing on all the fabrics of the Flou collection.

Or the cabinet with doors, drawers or open compartments and the bedside unit in a higher version, to round out the elements of the Gentleman collection – launched with success in 2014, with design by Carlo Colombo – which has been updated while conserving its particular features: the elegant lines, the combination of the inner ebony surface with the top in the new Impero Romano marble, and the painstaking craftsmanship. But also the various models of wardrobes and closets that stand out for their effective design, adapting to all the spaces and necessities of users with rationality, modular versatility and the variety of the doors and handles.

Gaudí by Flou, Design Matteo Nunziati

Softness, comfort and design for the bedroom zone

The Gaudí double bed designed by Matteo Nunziati is a tribute to wood, to the powerful force of nature and its spontaneous ability to create new forms that defy codification. The headboard and feet in solid wood are the results of exceptional workmanship, creating a sinuous framework that is ready to welcome the textile covering.‎ Now also available in a new natural ash wood finish.

Layla is a bed with large proportions and an ample but essential headboard with a simple form. The designer Carlo Colombo has balanced the broad headboard with the simplicity of the sommier, available (like the headboard) in all the variants of the classic Flou upholstered beds, with completely removable covers in fabric or leather.‎

MyPlace by Flou, Design Emanuela Garbin

The same options apply to MyPlace. Created by Emanuela Garbin, this bed definitely represents an idea of personal space for comfort and wellbeing, with its soft sommier, high headboard and thick, luxurious padding.

Sofas that are more innovative and original than ever before

Envisioned for increasingly dynamic, personalized spaces, the sofas for the living area permit experimentation with new strategies of relaxation, not only due to the variety of models, coverings, weaves, hues and textures from which to choose, but also for the extreme versatility of the arrangement of the parts in free groupings, leading to the creation of constantly novel sofas: seats with or without armrests, corner units, poufs, chaises longues, peninsulas.

Fiocco by Flou, Design Pinuccio Borgonovo

Fiocco, for example, is the new sofa by Pinuccio Borgonuovo constructed with a few easily configured elements, including a module with a pentagonal form that can be inserted to create sinuous, soft compositions.

The Flou 2022 catalogue also presents an expansion of the MyPlace series of seating components, in a spirit of increasingly nonchalant, informal socializing.‎

The pieces already in production are joined by new corner modules with a rounded form and a single armrest. They can be used as the ends of a composition or on their own, to create intimate corners for face-to-face conversation, or two-sided seating islands.‎ The compositions can be further enlivened with backs, offered in two different heights.

Gaudí by Flou, Design Matteo Nunziati

The brand’s exceptional bestsellers are seen alongside new, dynamic projects, also created for use in outdoor spaces. Like the Gaudí sun lounger, an item designed this year by Matteo Nunziati, a reinterpretation of the classic beach cot enhanced by softer lines – an exemplary combination of the natural appeal of wood and the comfort of the seat.
