The importance of the event is matched by that of the location. Porro opens a new showroom in London, inside one of the leading design destinations, the Coal Office, namely the headquarters of Tom Dixon at Kings Cross.

A red brick warehouse from the mid-1800s that has been completely renovated (by the firm David Morley Architects and Tom Dixon for the interiors) and transformed into a vibrant complex containing the home of the designer, offices, a showroom, a restaurant and a splendid terrace.

In this location near Central Saint Martins, Porro welcomes a cosmopolitan audience with a showroom space and a consulting office, ready to give rise to new tailor-made projects.

“We appreciate the unique charm of a place like this, a contemporary and intercultural crossroads, where art and creativity can flourish: we believe in the mixture of different creative approaches and the dialogue between apparently opposite worlds, linked by design quality as a fil rouge, to generate surprising projects of interior design,” says Maria Porro, director for marketing and communication of the family company.

The protagonists of the space include the Storage system of wardrobes and closets (designed by Piero Lissoni + CRS Porro) with the new 25x25mm section, the Materic table by Piero Lissoni, and the Load-it bookcase system, a Porro classic designed by Wolfgang Tolk.

The setting also features seating and complements, like the Lullaby chair designed by Nicola Gallizia, the Romby chairs by GamFratesi, the Brina stool and the Offshore chest of drawers by Piero Lissoni.
