To understand the reasons for the long-standing success of some companies, it is good to go back to the origins. The LaCividina adventure began in 1976, when Carlo Bulfoni, after more than twenty years of experience in the world of upholstered furniture, decided to open his workshop in Martignacco, in the province of Udine. Since then and under the guidance of Fulvio Bulfoni and Paola Mesaglio, a close dialogue with the most important international designers, a maniacal attention to detail and sustainability, “made in Italy” craftsmanship plus production and managerial concreteness, have made it a solid reality capable of competing at an international level and a privileged partner of important interior living projects in public and private environments. It was 2018 when the brand received the Certification of Italian Origin in the World, awarded for the first time to a company in the sector by Catas and Cosmob, the most qualified testing and certification laboratories for the furnishing sector in Italy.

Every project is the most important

LaCividina realisations guarantee an organisation fully at the service of the designer and his customers. For contract or residential projects, in Italy and throughout the world. Culture of design, responsible choices that guide each production phase and impeccable execution: this is how the Friuli-based company gives concrete form to the creativity of the best designers.

LaCividina’s is a flexible design that lasts over time. And each project is supported by complete, modular collections and a range of high quality, high performance fabrics and colours. Acoustic comfort is also guaranteed by the materials and the design itself, allowing “life” and “work” spaces to be carved out in private and communal environments.

LaCividina’s upholstered furniture collections are true sculptures that draw on international cultural and aesthetic models, which is why they have become iconic designs – as in the case of Suiseki, designed by Andrea Steidl in 2019, inspired by the Japanese art of laying stones found in nature, or Pierre Paulin’s Osaka sofa, with its sinuous and organic lines, developed for the 1970 Osaka International Exhibition and reissued in 2013 by LaCividina. Just to name a few.

The new LaCividina collections on show in Milano transform every private and community environment into “The Nice Place to Be“: organic and welcoming forms develop naturally around the new needs of the person, who returns as the absolute protagonist of design.

At the Salone del Mobile.Milano, LaCividina will present four new products: seating and furnishing accessories designed by Alessandro Stabile, Gordon Guillaumier and Antonino Sciortino. In Hall 16 (stand A23-B18), there will also be LaCividina’s best sellers including the modular seating systems Suiseki, designed by Andrea Steidl, Couchette, by LucidiPevere, Node+ by Ben van Berkel/UNStudio and an extraordinary promenade realised with the iconic Osaka sofa.

Lastly, the brand pays great attention to sustainability in all its collections, an essential value for contributing to the safeguarding of a planet that places human wellbeing at its centre: only five materials are used: upholstery, fabric for the coverings, padding, elastic belts and wood for the structures. All perfectly separable and recyclable in the context of the respect that LaCividina places in all its design and production actions.
