From 29 April to 1 May, the Philadelphia Show 2022 celebrates the event’s 60th anniversary with a special edition, staged for the first time at the impressive Museum of Art in that city. Initiatives, exhibitions and conferences, with over forty of the most highly acclaimed US galleries on hand.

Overlooking the city from the museum’s East Terrace is a perfect way to celebrate the 60th anniversary of The Philadelphia Show,” says Eleanore H. Gadsden, Chair of the event, “which offers the best of antiques, art and design.”

Set up for the first time in the evocative setting of a museum with 300 years of history in this city of Pennsylvania, the show creates a dialogue between various forms of artistic expression with one-of-a-kind, rare and original pieces, exhibited by over forty American galleries, including outstanding names in the world of collecting like Olde Hope, Kentshire, Lillian Nassau, Spencer Marks, Moderne Gallery.

Throughout the event an intense program of conferences has been organized in various stands, immersing visitors in the history of furnishings made in USA, from the refined crystal and glassware by Louis Comfort Tiffany to the enchantment of Mid-Century modern.

Supported by Justi Group – the principal sponsor – and by Christie’s, Chubb, Sotheby’s and Lagos, just to name a few, since 1962 the show has attracted the most well-informed collectors, becoming a reference point for the flourishing culture of Philadelphia and its artistic community.

In a choral celebration of six decades of excellence, the exhibition “Zero to Sixty” – curated by Alexandra Kirtley, the Montgomery-Garvan Curator of American Decorative Arts at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and by the art collector Joan Johnson – will investigate the past through an imaginative voyage in time. And in memory.
