Not just the space in the home that has been most utilized and changed over the last few years, but also the most complex zone, rich in appeal precisely because of its versatility. With the primary role of food preparation, the kitchen has shifted into new scenarios of socializing, often in direct connection with the living area, while relying on innovative technologies. New lifestyles have radically changed its look, but they have also required materials to offer better performance. This is where SapienStone, the brand of Iris Ceramica Group, comes into play: reconciling the focus on form with technical-functional aspects, SapienStone makes kitchen counters and worktops in porcelain stoneware. Strength, durability, sustainability and personalization are the characteristics most often associated with this material, which thus responds to the requirements of functional quality and flexibility in modern kitchen settings.

SapienStone, in fact, is made of natural raw materials that cannot be altered over time, resisting the effects of heat, light, scratching and chemical agents, including detergents and disinfectants. The counters become a theater of culinary experimentation, a vital center of everyday life in the home. The exceptional availability of colors and finishes reflects a wide range of modern or traditional tastes and styles, with full-body coloring and surface patterns that offer very realistic effects. The possibility of applying stoneware to tabletops (indoor and outdoor) and even bathroom counters, floors or walls, generates coordinate looks that create a dialogue between furnishings and spaces.
Furthermore, the stoneware is a natural, ecological product: SapienStone is produced with clays and mineral colors, which after pressing and firing become high-performance surfaces; at the end of its life cycle, it can be recycled for minimum environmental impact.

Age-old traditions in an innovative material
Among the many offerings of SapienStone, Il Veneziano stands out for good looks and originality. It takes its cue from Venetian terrazzo, the flooring that decorated noble Venetian villas and palaces, made with scraps from the crafting of marble and stones. The SapienStone collection echoes the natural warmth of this texture, through three new tops: Seminato Candido, Seminato Beige and Seminato Nero, in the thickness 12mm, for large-format slabs measuring 320x150cm.
Rustic accents for contemporary interiors
Focusing on another noble material, Piasentina stone, coveted since ancient times, SapienStone offers its own interpretation of this limestone of sedimentary origin: the result is the Piasentina finish in tones of gray, with light white veins and small brown-reddish patches; based on the polishing applied, it can be paler or darker. A natural material effect, pleasing to the touch.
In praise of purity
The aesthetic research of SapienStone had to include a tribute to the pale glow of marble: it takes the form of Premium White, which combines a white base with subtle pale gray veins to convey the effect of stratified marble, where time has create a movement of delicate patterns and lines. The polished finish brings out the material’s classic beauty. For a delicate but extremely shiny look, in a thickness of just 12mm.
