The setting is the Tuileries Garden, quite breathtaking in its own right. And while from the outside the white tents that traditionally host PAD Paris (the latest edition is the 24th, from 5 to 10 April) convey the idea of a sporting event, inside the wavelength changes abruptly.
A happening of great appeal for worldwide design collectors, PAD brings together 61 French and international galleries focusing on the decorative arts and historic, modern and contemporary design.
The fair is like a salon, curated even in its most technical aspects: for this iteration, the setting of the restaurant has been assigned to the decorator Sandra Benhamou, and the PAD Studio – a small, precious space of display and encounters – has been designed by the interior architects Jacques Beò and Artur Miranda (founders of the firm Oitoemponto). The jury of PAD Paris, composed of internationally renowned architects and interior designers, is chaired by Jacques Grange.
Created in 1998, over the years this event has asserted its own personality and viewpoint on the art de vivre and collecting. The galleries participating in this edition include: Carpenters Workshop (UK/USA/FR), Rossella Colombari (IT), Galerie Kreo (FR/UK), Negropontes (FR), Achille Salvagni (UK/IT).
