Beauty, of course, but never as an end in itself. A simultaneous passion for rigor and joy that has always guided Fritz Hansen in the production of furnishings that have become milestones of design history. Such as the Egg table, a masterpiece by Arne Jacobsen from 1952, now reinterpreted in a modern way for the 150th anniversary of the Danish company.
The firmās design thinking remains firmly connected to concepts of quality and care in manufacture, in the conviction that objects should improve and facilitate everyday life. In perfect tune with Jacobsen, who countered the precision and minimalism of his works of architecture in the 1950s with the organic curves of his furniture, offering multiple possibilities of insertion in spaces.
Originally made in teak and rosewood, the Eggā¢ is now offered ā in total respect for its past ā with a top in FSC certified wood with a walnut finish, set on legs in shiny chrome-plated steel. The oval form prevents rigid frontal seating arrangements, creating a fluid, homogeneous convivial setting.
The measurements of the top are 115×84 cm, ready to host three Ant chairs with three legs, a limited edition combination for use in the kitchen, an informal dining room of small home office spaces.
