The year gets off to a great start for Cantiere delle Marche, with the launch of Uptight, Darwin 106 of the Darwin Class, and Acala, a 43-meter custom explorer vessel, over a span of just a few days. These achievements come in the wake of an equally exciting year-end period, with as many as five units sold over the last six months: two Flexplorer 146 44.33-meter yachts (which will be the sisters of the magnificent Aurelia superyacht admired at the Yachting Festival in Cannes), designed by Sergio Cutolo for maximum flexibility; Project T, a totally custom 45-meter designed by Giorgio Maria Cassetta, with elegant external lines and a straight bow; an EXP 43-meter semi-custom by Francesco Paszkowski Design, with a perfect balance of comfort, interior elegance and reliability; and, finally, the third 130 semi-custom of the Acciaio series, 39.42 meters, again by Sergio Cutolo, conceived to explore seas around the world, and perfect for deep-sea fishing.

“2021 has been a memorable year, since we began operations 10 years ago,” says Vasco Buonpensiere, co-founder and Sales & Marketing Director of CdM / Cantiere delle Marche. “Over the last six months we have sold an impressive number of explorer vessels, and our order book has reached 15 new commissions for a total of 578 meters of yacht length.”

la is the latest unit launched by the Ancona shipyard, a company that in just 10 years has become a true worldwide reference point for the construction of explorer yachts, solid vessels with exceptional seagoing performance, packed with innovation, style and design. Their reliability puts the shipyard in 12th place in the global rankings recently issued by Boat International.

A totally custom creation, Acala has been commissioned by an expert yachtsman who has owned various yachts over the years (Feadship, Lürssen, Blohm and Voss). Already the owner of an explorer by Cantiere delle Marche, a Darwin 102 with which he has navigated in the Pacific and Atlantic, he wanted a larger yacht from the same shipyard, and has chosen the design by Horacio Bozzo. With a steel hull and superstructure in aluminium, the boat has ample volumes and harmonious lines, developing on three decks; the interiors are by the Mexican architect Simon Hamui.

Uptight is a 32-meter yacht built on the naval platform of the Darwin 102, specially modified and engineered by Sergio Cutolo. This is a series of boats with timeless lines, created by the Ancona shipyard together with Hydro Tec, fully representing the spirit of the explorer yachts designed for long navigation in total safety. The welcoming, informal interiors have been designed by Francesco Guida. The yachtsman who has chosen this boat is a true expert: he is already planning trips to Alaska and other faraway locations.

“Our explorers respond perfectly to the requests and expectations of American yachtsmen, due to their volume and indoor-outdoor spaces, their sturdiness, reliability and excellent construction,” says Vasco Buonpensiere. “It has taken some years to conquer the American market, but we have done so. Today the yachts of CdM ply the seas all over the world, and thanks to their quality that are coveted on both sides of the Atlantic.”
