Buddy sofa by Pedrali
#PEDRALITALES

The minimum common denominator is comfort. That sense of ease, softness, comfort that expands from every single product to fill the entire space. It matters little if we are talking about an armchair, an ottoman or a sofa: every Pedrali proposal embodies this universal concept that is part of the company’s DNA. Forms may vary, volumes may multiply, padding may compete with structure in a game of full and empty zones. Modular design and personalization become added ingredients to guarantee extraordinary flexibility in these collections, in terms of styles and interior contexts – which is why the company is an outstanding reference point for the world of hospitality.

While the uses and expressions of these creations may differ, there is still a constant search for ergonomic comfort, developed in parallel to the various degrees of enveloping structure provided by every single collection.

Looking through the latest new developments, Blume displays a perfect proportion between lightness of form and soft appeal. Sebastian Herkner has added remarkable value to the extruded aluminium profile, with its flower-like silhouette, on which to place – like delicate petals – the rounded padded elements of the seat and back. Thanks to this distinctive force, Blume has been chosen to furnish the LAQUA Countryside by Antonino Cannavacciuolo, an intimate resort located inland from Sorrento, and the Mamì restaurant of the five-star Meliá Hotel in Milan.

The iconic Jazz chair immediately suggests the idea of a big hug: clearly conveyed by the ample, curved and padded back, which also encloses the armrests. The silhouette of the structure creates a minimal steel frame, underlined by the range of different finishes. With its discreet elegance, this model finds a perfect setting in hotels, restaurants and lounges; the latter include the Rove Expo 2020 Hotel, the only hotel inside the Expo in Dubai.

With Ester, Patrick Jouin pursues the idea of absolute comfort, giving it concrete form in a collection with a shell padded in polyurethane foam, with elastic belting, all supported by legs in die-cast aluminium – reflecting constant attention to detail. This is “the” armchair par excellence, welcomed with enthusiasm into the most exceptional restaurants on the international scene: from the Sachi Park in Giza to La Mamounia in Marrakesh, all the way to Anima, the restaurant in the Milano Verticale urban design hotel.

Next, here comes Ila: with its ample forms it creates an inimitable “cocoon” effect. The outer part is made in rigid polyurethane, smooth and taut, while the inner part of the seat and back is in flexible foam, boosting the sense of protection conveyed by the chair. Ready for personalization of the base, finishes and colors, all the way to the addition of a headrest.

From seats to armchairs to sofas. In the Buddy Sofa (designed by Busetti Garuti Redaelli) it seems to be impossible to contain the softness, which escapes amidst the playfully sinuous lines. An explosion of comfort (provided by four different densities for the polyurethane foam and elastic belting) that can only be restrained by the covering. In stylistic continuity with the many items of the Buddy family, the sofa displays a contrast between the full volumes of the seat and the lightness of the frame.
