Wellness experiences

To reactivate energy in a sauna or a Turkish bath, or just to catch a well-deserved moment of relaxation in the bathroom, the most intimate, enticing space in the home

The bathroom has been transformed into a space for personal rituals, alternating the dry warmth of a sauna with the damp heat of a Turkish bath. Or you can regenerate by immersion in a comfortable tub, perhaps relying on special nozzles that produce effects of massage and caresses. Wellness has many faces and also comes to the fore through materials and colors, for a welcoming, meditative atmosphere.

YOKU Spa is the wellness system designed by Marco Wiliam Fagioli for Effe. An evolution of Yoku SH, the new project features the presence of a large shower space between the sauna and the Turkish bath. In the spa version the regenerating benefits of the shower represent the central moment of the experience, in a specially formulated space. Like the entire Yoku line, YOKU Spa has vertical wooden parts that suggest the idea of ‘immersion’ in a forest, inspired by the branch of Japanese natural medicine known as shinrin-yoku, a practice based on the idea that immersion in nature can have profound health benefits.

CYO by Dornbracht, Design Mike Meiré
CYO by Dornbracht, Design Mike Meiré

The new CYO tapware series for the bathroom by Dornbracht is based on a project from 1969, taken from the company’s archives. The central feature of the design is a reinterpretation of the classic C-shaped spout. The basic element of the circle is found across the entire series and the various parts of the faucet, from the handle to the water flow which follows the form of the spout. Mike Meiré, who has developed the architecture of the CYO bathroom, talks about how Dornbracht has formulated it as a space for individual rituals, responding to the desires and needs of users, who want to be energized, revitalized, relaxed or protected.
