The Agriturismo dai Grésy in Langa has been created over the remains of an old farmhouse, in the midst of a mosaic of vineyards extending in orderly rows as far as the eye can see. The structure reveals the cellar which was the center of domestic and agricultural life. The area of 1500 sqm contains eleven rooms, including two suites, a space for events and meetings with a panoramic view, and a tasting room in which to sample the wines of Tenute Cisa Asinari dei Marchesi di Grésy, producers of Barbaresco.
The protagonists of the project by the architect Elena Bellincioni are the materials. Wood, iron, stone, walls in lime and batch-colored cocciopesto are allied and connected in a stylistic and spatial continuum to give rise to soft, welcoming spaces. Everything speaks of a solid bond with the location: the living area, gathered around the fireplace just like a family farmstead, features furnishings designed by EB and crafted by local artisans, along with large glass doors where the light is filtered by sculptural wooden shutters. The sense of a magical place that bestows relaxation and a slow pace is also conveyed outside by a magnificent stone pool, with a slightly iridescent surface, in the midst of the vineyards.
Dornbracht takes part with a linear, progressive approach to the architecture of the bathrooms. In the private units for all the rooms, the Tara faucet series has been installed in matte black, standing out – with its elegant lines and the iconic cruciform grips – as a forceful graphic sign on the colored cocciopesto background. Inside the spa area, which includes a sauna, a Turkish bath, a hydromassage tub, showers and a relaxation area, massage rooms and a fitness center, the Meta and Mem collections correspond with their essential design to the refined minimalism of Tara, this time in the chrome-plated version.
