While the living area has been the protagonist of remarkable transformations, as a result of new lifestyles and everyday attitudes that have evolved in recent times – involving concepts of multitasking, transformability, dynamism and adaptation – the bedroom zone has been like an alter ego, placing even more emphasis on the semantic ambit of relaxation and comfort. The place of rest and wellbeing par excellence, the nighttime zone has augmented its nature to become an enveloping domestic refuge and retreat. In the vision of MisuraEmme, it is a microcosm where materials, finishes and stylistic expressions all contribute to amplify a sense of comfort.

The creations of Misuraemme – from wardrobes to beds to complements – apply contemporary styling in this ‘nocturnal’ context to generate delicate elegance and reassuring functional quality.

The company’s latest offerings, with an exclusive presentation during the Supersalone in Milan, move precisely in this direction. Starting with Eros, the bedroom grouping composed of a dresser and bedside units (designed by Massimo Dei): here the ethereal appearance is matched with rich, appealing materials. Metal, marble and wood meet in furniture of compact size but boundless refinement: the metal structure with an oval form, coated in a bronze tone, supports the marble top by means of a precise recess that also functions as a distinctive graphic feature. Below, the storage zone is in black stained oak. The result is an intriguing game of the senses – sight and touch – driven by the different but harmonious material presence of the three elements.

Eros provides an archipelago for the protagonist of the setting, the new Virgin bed, an island of rest, warm and enveloping. Values the designer Mauro Lipparini has underscored at first glance, shaping the headboard that forcefully embraces the base (as well as its users). The soft padding attenuates the sculptural, rationalist form of the volumes.

The setting would not be complete without the architectural presence of Palo Alto Free, the wardrobe cabin designed by Gianni Borgonovo, which creates an ideal backdrop for this dreamy dimension. Full and empty zones, transparent or material surfaces – the compositions are countless, glowing with soft internal LED lighting to enhance the overall sense of lightness, in total tune with the nighttime atmosphere.

The evolution of Palo Alto I-Box, Palo Alto Free has an essential structure: the door is directly supported by the frontal floor-to-ceiling post which constitutes the structure, forming a system of accessorized doors (compatible with all the panels of the Palo Alto system and the evolution of the Rex door with the RX6 opening system featuring a swing-slide movement patented by MisuraEmme) ready to frame niches, to generate architectural frames while permitting extraordinary freedom of expression.
