Calligaris Group acquires Fatboy

The Dutch design brand enters the group helmed by Stefano Rosa Uliana

Calligaris Group continues its growth process along external lines: it has now completed the acquisition of a 100% share of Fatboy the Original.
Fatboy, a company founded in Den Bosch (Holland) in 2002, and immediately identified with the iconic oversized bag chair by the Finnish architect Jukka Setälä, has made progress in the sector thanks to its amusing, youthful design.

With this acquisition Calligaris Group – whose portfolio also contains the brands Calligaris, Connubia, Ditre Italia and Luceplan – can benefit from the digital expertise of Fatboy and the company’s solid experience in the omnichannel marketing strategy, while also reinforcing its position in the outdoor sector, a segment of reference for the Dutch firm, which in turn will be able to expand its global presence through this operation.

The acquisition of Fatboy is also part of the strategy of creation of value of Alpha, the pan-European private equity fund that acquired a majority share of Calligaris Group in September 2018.
